Direct regeneration from mature cotyledons of sunflower Cuban genotypes (Helianthus annuus).
Main Article Content
Abstract
A study about shoot regeneration from mature cotyledons of different Cuban sunflower genotypes and some culture media was made. Hyperhydric and flowered shoots percentages and calli percentages also were studied. Shoot regeneration was evaluated qualitatively or by shoots number. Results were evaluated through varianz analysis and Duncan test at 5 %. The best shoot regeneration was found in the small BAP and AIA concentration. Related to Hyperhydric and flowered shoots found in vitro it was appreciated that C-65 genotype showed the lowest values with 70 % of rooting. It would be possible to propagate interesting genotypes using this methodology.
