Field testing Alternaria solani tolerant tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) somaclons
Main Article Content
Abstract
Agronomic behavior of somaclons of tomato obtained in vitro as Alternaria solani tolerant was studied on field’s condition under natural infestation. The results showed that 38,8 % of somaclons have higher response that cultivar Cubanacan-1243, resistant control. The agronomic characters related with yields (number of flowers and fruits, average and total weight of fruits, polar and equatorial diameter) of somaclons selected showed statistical differences with original cultivar (Cuba C-2781). Average weight of fruits showed the higher Degree Genetic Determination (DGD) and Coefficient of Genetic Variation (CVG) (85 % y 31 % respectively). The Selection Differential (S) results a positive variation of somaclones in relation with the original cultivars.
