Drysolarkinetics of the leaf oregano (Plectrantus ambuinicus (Lour.) Spreng)
Main Article Content
Abstract
Dry solar, is one of the technologies more diffused for the Urban, Suburban and Familiar Agriculture for species that require preserving its organoleptics characteristic. However is necessary to consolidate the knowledge in this thematic, for to adapt them to the different vegetable materials in function of the exchange of mass and energy that it is generated in this process. The objective in this investigation was to determine the influence of the temperature and the relative humidity inside the dry camera, in the extraction dynamics of the water of the oregano leaf. The temperature, the relative humidity and the loss of humidity, was overlook during the dehydration in different intervals of time. It was used the Henderson and Pabis model for the mathematical description. Through of an analytic solution it was to relationship the dry constant obtained with diffusion coefficient and it for to obtain the activation energy used the Arrhenius equation. The results demonstrated that in the dry solar with flow of air for natural convection, is possible between 94 and 145 h, to reduce the moisture below 0,16 g.g ms-1. It was determined that the thermodynamics parameters, the content of initial humidity and the morphological characteristic, condition the extraction dynamics of the water. It was also verified that the thermal gradient obtained to the interior of the camera, generate a very humid atmosphere for which is needed of a high activation energy for to realize the dehydration.
