Abstract
A training experience with farmers in the Zapata Swamp is shown in this paper keeping in mind the impact of the workshops in coherence with Popular Education. The topic about agricultural management practices was analyzed and discussed through a theoretical and practical interchanged because it was a learning necessity detected in previous diagnosis. The planned objectives were focused toward impacts in the production. Several surveys were applied to 57 % of the participants to evaluating the adoption level of the practices in the different imparted subjects, as well as, the personal incomes and the socialization of the practices. The participation in the training and the productive unit localization were considered as independent variables. The sample was characterized with respect to in function farm's area, school level and variety of managed species. The diagnosis of training necessities was the starting point of the process and it allowed to approach toward the problems identified by the productive base. Eight themes were developed where five of them were applied in 100 % in both zones analyzed. The farmers with implemented practices without participating in the workshops evidenced that the socialization of the knowledge is relevant inside the Agricultural extension process. The farmers increased their incomes by trades and sales through the cooperative in 47 % and 105 % in Soplillar and La Ceiba- Cayo Ramona communities, respectively.
