Use of biofertilization to promote chamomile crop (Matricaria recutita L.)
Main Article Content
Abstract
Chamomile (Matricaria recutita L.) is one of the most widely used medicinal plants worldwide, both in traditional medicine and pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. The research was conducted with the objective of evaluating the effect of applying bacterial biofertilizers and worm humus on chamomile cultivation to promote the production of flowers and seeds. The experimental variant that combined worm humus and the consortium based on plant growth-promoting microorganisms showed a positive effect on the increase of flowers, with significant differences compared to the rest. There were no differences among treatments regarding plants height, root length and number of branches; nevertheless the effectiveness of the biofertilization combined with worm humus was demonstrated to increase the yield of dry flower mass (kg.ha-1) and seed production (g), compared to the control.
