Studies related to Bacillus subtilis use for control of phytopathogenic fungy.
Main Article Content
Abstract
Bacillus genus antagonistic properties have been largely used as a mean for diseases control, diminisshing environmental contamination risks caused by indiscriminated employment of chemicals. Bacillus subtilis is esteemed the most important between sporulated bacteria, provided its antibiotics productions and because of the ample diffusion it has in the nature there is a growing interest as for its study and use. During several years studies have been carried out with a strain of Bacillus subtilis isolated un INIFAT areas, being obtained a formulation of an alternative media with better economic feasibility for the development an artisan production. It is shown mycelial growth inhibition capacity that have been reached by the bacterial solution against more than 20 fungy species of economic importance, belonging to 17 genera, what brings evidences of the wide range of action, as soon as its use for Alternaria porri control in onion culture, making possible the replacement of chemical applications by the biocontrol.
